Ginger for dogs: the joint role, not the car-sickness one

Ginger has two separate reputations, easing nausea and supporting joints, and Move includes it for the second one specifically, working alongside boswellia and turmeric.

What the compounds in ginger actually do

Ginger's gingerols and shogaols are the compounds studied for inflammatory and oxidative-stress pathways, and in dogs, ginger has featured in mobility-focused formulations evaluated for osteoarthritis support, with research showing improvements in inflammatory markers alongside pain outcomes. A meta-analysis of ginger in human osteoarthritis patients reached a similar conclusion across multiple randomised, placebo-controlled trials.

Why Move doesn't use it for nausea

Ginger is traditionally used for digestive comfort and motion sickness, and that reputation is well earned. But Move includes it specifically for the joint and antioxidant role studied above, at an amount and alongside compounds calibrated for that purpose rather than as a car-sickness remedy.

That's also why it's combined with boswellia and turmeric: the three act through overlapping but distinct compounds, so the formula isn't relying on any single botanical to carry joint comfort on its own.
