Piperine, the compound in black pepper also sold as bioperine, is in Move for one job: it helps your dog's body absorb more of the curcumin in turmeric. On its own, curcumin is poorly absorbed; a 1998 study (Shoba et al.) found that pairing it with piperine increased bioavailability roughly twentyfold. Broono uses a small 5 mg dose per serving, calibrated to that absorption role rather than as a standalone active.
