Cucurbita pepo
Pumpkin for Dogs
Supports stool quality and everyday digestive balance

Pumpkin for dogs: the familiar fibre, formulated rather than scooped from a can
Pumpkin's reputation as a dog digestive remedy is well founded, but Prebiotic uses a measured, standardised amount alongside inulin and psyllium husk, rather than plain canned pumpkin.
What the research on pumpkin fibre found
A multicenter study found a fibre-supplemented dietary intervention, including dried pumpkin, helped dogs with chronic large-bowel diarrhoea, and a companion study traced the effect specifically to changes in gut microbiome function rather than fibre bulk alone.
Within the formula, pumpkin complements inulin and psyllium husk by contributing to a fibre matrix that supports a stable gut environment, rather than doing the job any single fibre could do alone.
Why not just use canned pumpkin
It's the same plant, but a can varies from batch to batch, and the amount that's helpful for one dog can be too much or too little for another. Broono uses a fixed, standardised amount as part of a formulated fibre blend, so the amount stays consistent rather than depending on which can happened to be open.
